OG Mushrooms

We are Manon and Satish (also collectively known as Manish), founders of OG Mushrooms. We would have never imagined we’d be helming a plant-based food venture if you’d have met us a few years ago!

As chefs, restaurant owners and entrepreneurs, our aim is to share our love for plant-based food and our passion for mushrooms with India and the world. We believe the earth will become a healthier, happier and a greener place, if all of us eat more mushrooms.

Our Story

Manon is born in Paris and Satish in New Delhi

Both of us grew up loving mushrooms all our lives.1988

A love story begins

We both move to Bombay and are introduced to each other by a common friend (not a mushroom!)2015

V for vegan

Inspired by our love for animals and in an effort to do something good for the planet, we decide to become vegan.2017

Home chefs

We start cooking seriously and begin our training as future vegan chefs at home.2017-2019

Goa calling

Quit our 9 to 5 jobs in advertising and contemporary art and leave the city behind to move to the lush jungles and pristine beaches of South Goa. We open Cantine indienne, a farm-to-table, fully plant-based restaurant, in the midst of the pandemic.2020

THE BIRTH OF OG MUSHROOMS

We build our DIY farm right next to the restaurant and start growing mushrooms for our own menu and other nearby food businesses.2021

The mushrooms whisper a secret recipe to us and voilà! The idea of creating an amazing ready-to-eat mushroom product is born.2022
